Wastewater pumping station

A sample HMI system for a wastewater pumping station: four pumps that take turns according to the water level, speed-controlled motors and flow metering.

The home screen shows both stations: the water level in the well, which pumps are running and at what speed, the flow per month and per year, and the latest alarms. Sample drawn in AndOr’s screen standard.

About the system

A wastewater pumping station has to keep the level in the well within limits while the inflow changes. The operator sees the well, the pumps and the flow in one picture and gets an alarm on screen when something is wrong.

Key features

  • Level control adds and stops pumps according to the water level
  • The pumps take turns as lead pump and run on variable-speed drives
  • Three level sensors, and the system carries on with two if one fails
  • Dry-run protection stops the pumps if the level gets too low
  • Level limits, speed and delays set on screen
  • Trend charts, flow per month and year, and a monthly report
  • The same base system can serve several stations, and a pump can be added without changing the structure
